It is Spain&#8217;s largest natural lake and it is located in the northern part of the Malaga province, not far from Antequera.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignnone wp-image-621 size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/autentical.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/42\/2017\/07\/Maj-2010-036.jpg\" alt=\"Wild flamingos at Laguna Fuente de Piedra\" class=\"wp-image-621\"\/><figcaption>Wild flamingos at Laguna Fuente de Piedra<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>There are no cages, no fencing and nothing in captivity here, but a rich birdlife in a beautiful nature conservation area &#8211; and of special interest are the thousands of flamingos that reside here. But not only here: they move back and forth between the various wetlands found in Andalusia, including the Do\u00f1ana National Park in Huelva and the 3 small lagoons by Campillos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The visitor center, where you can park, is quite uninteresting. The exception from this is if the lake is almost without water and the flamingos therefore fit into the little dam at the visitor center instead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignnone wp-image-624 size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/autentical.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/42\/2017\/07\/Maj-2010-038.jpg\" alt=\"Flamingos in their natural habitat\" class=\"wp-image-624\"\/><figcaption>Flamingos in their natural habitat<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The interesting places are located further around the lake, where there are also viewpoint sheds and parking spaces. You can drive there &#8211; or take a hike along the lake (4-5 km each way).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is an advantage to bring binoculars or telescope cameras.
